Privacy Policy
This policy covers wollondillytreeservices.com.au and explains how Wollondilly Tree Services handles the personal information you provide when you make an enquiry — by the form on this website or by phone.
We are a small Australian service-area business operating a referral website. Some small businesses fall outside the strict coverage of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles anyway. It is not a complicated policy because it is not a complicated business.
Last updated: August 2026.
The short version
You tell us about a tree job. We pass your name, contact details and job description to an independent local tree contractor so they can quote it. That is the purpose of the site and it is the main thing that happens to your information. We do not sell it, and we do not sign you up to marketing you did not ask for.
What we collect
Only what is needed to get a quote organised:
- your name;
- your phone number, and your email address if you give one;
- the property address or suburb where the work is needed;
- what you have told us about the job — the trees, the access, the timing, and any photos you choose to send.
Ringing (02) 4601 3180 collects the same information verbally.
We do not ask for bank or credit card details, government identifiers, or sensitive information such as health, racial, religious or membership details. Please do not send any of that through this website.
How your information is used
- To contact you about the enquiry you made.
- To refer the job to one or more independent tree contractors working in the Wollondilly area.
- To follow up if we have not managed to reach you.
- To keep a basic record of enquiries received.
That is the complete list.
Passing your enquiry to a contractor
This is a referral website, so passing your details on is the service. When you enquire, your contact details and job description go to an independent tree business so they can arrange an inspection, quote the work and carry it out.
Those businesses are separate operations. Once your details reach them, they hold their own copy and handle it under their own privacy practices, which we do not control. If you want to know what a contractor holds about you, or want it deleted, you need to ask them directly.
Our Disclaimer sets out the referral arrangement in full, including the fact that we do not verify or vouch for contractors.
Systems and providers involved
Beyond the contractor, your information may pass through or be stored by:
- the enquiry form and messaging platform that captures and stores form submissions;
- the website hosting and content delivery provider, which keeps server and access logs;
- telephone services used to receive and route calls; and
- anyone we are legally required to disclose it to — a court, a regulator, or a law enforcement agency acting lawfully.
Some of these providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia. By sending an enquiry you accept that your information may be handled overseas by those providers.
Cookies and site measurement
This site may use standard web analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. That collects aggregate technical data — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site — and is not used to identify you personally. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies and the site will still work normally.
How long it is kept
Enquiry records are kept only while there is a genuine reason to have them — following up the job, resolving a question about it, or meeting a legal or tax obligation. After that they are deleted or de-identified.
Security
Information is held in the systems described above, which use access controls and encryption in transit as standard. No transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot promise otherwise, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you have given us and we do not hold more of it than we need.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Ring (02) 4601 3180 and say what you want done. Reasonable requests are actioned free of charge, and if we cannot do what you have asked we will explain why.
Again: if your enquiry has already gone to a contractor, that business holds its own copy and you will need to contact them about their records.
Complaints
If you think your information has been mishandled, ring (02) 4601 3180 first so we get a chance to fix it. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version always sits on this page with the date it was last changed shown above.
