The important part, up front
wollondillytreeservices.com.au is a referral website.
What it does is take your enquiry and put it in front of independent tree contractors working in the Wollondilly Shire. What it does not do is send anyone up a tree. The operator of this website is not the contractor who carries out the work, does not employ them, and does not own or control their business.
We put that at the top rather than in small print at the bottom, because it changes who you are actually dealing with and what you should be checking.

Who turns up at your property
The person who inspects the job, gives you the price, runs the saw and sends the invoice is an independent third-party tree contractor. They run their own business, carry their own insurance, hold their own qualifications and make their own decisions about how work is done.
Once you are introduced, the whole arrangement is between you and them:
- the site inspection and the written quote;
- the scope of work, the method and the date;
- the price, the payment terms and any warranty offered;
- their licensing, qualifications, training and insurance cover;
- clean-up, disposal and what is left behind; and
- any delay, damage, dispute or complaint that arises.
The operator of this website is not a party to that agreement and cannot resolve a dispute under it.
What "we" means everywhere else on this site
The rest of the site is written in ordinary first-person English — "we can organise that", "the crews we connect you with", "call us for a quote". That is plain phrasing, not a claim that the website operator performs tree work.
Read every one of those as "we will connect you with an independent local contractor who does this", because that is what it means each time. Every service description on this site — clearing, hazard reduction, removal, lopping, stump grinding, deadwood, storm work, mulching, hedge and windrow trimming — describes work carried out by independent contractors, not by us.
We do not check or guarantee contractors
We try to send enquiries to capable local operators, and we want to be straight with you about the limits of that.
We do not verify, vet, endorse, certify or guarantee any contractor's qualifications, licences, insurance cover, workmanship, safety systems, pricing or availability. We make no representation that any particular contractor is suitable for your job, your block or your tree.
So do the checking yourself, before anyone starts:
- Ask to see a current public liability insurance certificate. We ask crews to carry cover, but we do not sight or confirm anyone's policy — you should. Check the expiry date and the insured entity name.
- Ask about qualifications relevant to the actual work, particularly for climbing, rigging, machinery operation and any work near powerlines.
- Get the quote in writing with the scope spelled out — which trees, to what extent, and whether stump grinding, clean-up and green waste removal are in or out.
- Get more than one quote. Nothing here obliges you to accept the first.
Any competent operator expects these questions and will not take offence at them.
Information about trees, council rules and bushfire is general only
The material published on this site about local species, shale and sandstone soils, storm behaviour, drought stress, post-fire regrowth, Wollondilly Shire Council's tree management rules and NSW bushfire clearing schemes is general information written for this district. It is researched from published sources and written in good faith, and it is still only general.
It is not advice about your specific tree, your specific block or your specific circumstances. Nothing on this site is an approval, a permit, an exemption, a certification or a compliance assessment, and nobody here can issue one.
In particular:
- Council rules change. Exemption lists, application tiers, fees, zoning triggers and processes are all subject to change. Confirm your situation directly with Wollondilly Shire Council on (02) 4677 1100 before work starts. If this website and Council disagree, Council is right.
- Bushfire clearing is regulated by others. Asset Protection Zones, hazard reduction certificates and the 10/50 Vegetation Clearing scheme are administered by the NSW Rural Fire Service. Whether 10/50 applies depends on whether your address is inside a mapped entitlement area on the day you clear — check it yourself on the RFS online tool. Neither this website nor any contractor introduced through it can issue an approval, confirm an entitlement, or certify compliance with any bushfire standard.
- No safety guarantee. Hazard reduction and vegetation management reduce fuel; they do not make a property safe from fire, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise.
- Get a qualified arborist to inspect any tree you are genuinely concerned about.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this website accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense arising from or connected with:
- the conduct, workmanship, omissions or advice of any independent contractor;
- work performed, delayed, or not performed;
- any contract, dispute, payment issue or damage claim between you and a contractor;
- reliance on any general information published on this website;
- any council penalty, fine, enforcement action or approval issue relating to tree or vegetation work; or
- any bushfire, storm or tree failure event and its consequences.
Nothing here excludes any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
How the referral arrangement is paid for
The operator of this website may receive a fee or other commercial benefit from contractors in connection with enquiries referred to them. This adds nothing to the price you are quoted, and it does not commit you to anyone. You remain free to get other quotes, to decline, or to use a contractor you found somewhere else entirely.
